Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels – Tay Ninh
Begin the journey from Ho Chi Minh City and travel northwest toward the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, one of Vietnam’s most significant historical sites from the Vietnam War era. Located approximately two hours from the city center, this vast underground network offers travelers a fascinating and emotional insight into wartime life and the resilience of the Vietnamese people.
Along the way, the bustling urban landscape gradually transforms into peaceful countryside scenery filled with rice fields, rubber plantations, and lush greenery, offering a glimpse into rural Southern Vietnam.
Upon arrival at Cu Chi Tunnels, guests will explore the incredible underground tunnel system used by Vietnamese soldiers during the war. Travelers can crawl through sections of the tunnels to better understand the challenging living conditions and strategic military operations carried out underground.
The experience also includes visits to bomb craters, hidden trap doors, underground kitchens, weapon-making areas, and the Hoang Cam Stove system used for cooking without revealing smoke. Guests will learn more about wartime history through documentary screenings and exhibits showcasing self-made weapons and military equipment.
For those interested, there is also an opportunity to experience the National Defense Sports Shooting Range, where visitors may try firing historical weapons such as the AK-47 or M-16 rifle (optional activity and subject to availability).
Lunch will be served at Ben Duoc Riverside Restaurant, where guests can enjoy local Vietnamese cuisine in a peaceful natural setting.
Before departing, travelers will have the chance to taste boiled tapioca — a traditional wartime food once eaten by soldiers living inside the tunnels.
In the afternoon, continue the journey to Tay Ninh, a province known for its spiritual culture and sacred mountain landscapes. Upon arrival, hotel check-in and free time to relax.
